Translation, Interpretation and Notary

 

Document Translation

 

We offer certified translations of the following personal documents: 

  • Birth, death, marriage and divorce certificates
  • Foreign driver‘s licences
  • Educational documents and diplomas
  • Employment records
  • Criminal record check
  • Reference letters

You do NOT need to book an appointment in advance. Original documents must be presented. A deposit and accurate personal contact information are required when you place a translation request. 

The translation fee and  time depend on the type of document and the language. Translation typically takes two or three weeks. All translated documents will be notarized and an affidavit signed by the translator will be provided.

 

Interpretation Services

 

We provide interpretation services in  30 languages across the public and private sectors.

  • We provide free interpretation services to our clients through our programs, such as SSWIS (Settlement Support Workers in Schools), RAP (Refugee Assistance Program), employment, childcare, women’s and family programs. Furthermore, for a fee, we also provide services to public agencies such as the courts and Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Social Services, City of Saskatoon, WCB (Workmen’s Compensation Board) and SGI (Saskatchewan Government Insurance), as well as to businesses. Advance notice and details of the assignments are required.

   Notary Public Service

 

We will notarize a number of documents, including:

  • ID declaration and Statutory Declaration
  • Authorization of minor child travel
  • Travel invitation and visa request
  • Certified true copies of documents  

   Translators

Our clients need to have documents translated into English from the following languages:
Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, French, German, Hindi, Punjabi, Greek, Italian, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Turkish, Ukrainian and Vietnamese. Applicants who meet the following requirements will be considered:

  • Member of ATIS (Association of Translators and Interpreters of Saskatchewan)
  • University degree (studies in the target language)
  • CLB 8 or above in English
  • More than one year’s experience in document translation
  • University degree in translation, interpretation or linguistics a definite asset

    Interpreters

 

Anyone wishing to be an interpreter is invited to apply if they are verbally fluent in English and any of the following languages:

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Fluency and proficiency in English and another language
  • LINC 6 or above 
  • Minimum high school diploma
  • Prior interpreting experience
  • Flexible working schedule (between 8:30 and 4:30 p.m.)
  • A Class 5 driver’s licence and own vehicle preferred but not required
